The police are to investigate that MI5 went along with torture and interrogation, which exceeded unacceptable levels in human suffering.
A British resident says he was tortured before being sent to Guantanamo, and says he may give evidence against those involved to make sure senior figures in Government are held to account for involvement in his treatment.
Binyam Mohamed spoke to the Guardian Newspaper after the attorney general called in the Metropolitan Police to investigate claims that MI 5 had helped in his interrogation.
Mohamed said he was determined to not let officer B off the hook, and said “it is important for everyone’s future that we get to the bottom of this”,.
The attorney general, Lady Scotland took the unprecedented move to call the police, because the evidence was so strong that MI5 colluded with the CIA in Mohamed’s inhuman treatment and secret rendition.
There is much evidence that is also being suppressed, because of gagging orders, brought in by David Milliband. It is not known whether any of this will ever come out because of the serious repercussions this could have on people in high positions of power, who never carry the blame for anything.
Whatever happens now is unlikely to uncover much conspiracy. We can only hope that the true evidence comes out in the open and the people and agencies that committed these horrible crimes to innocent people are held to account.
But let us not think for one minute that the people involved will actually be held accountable for their crimes, because the people who authorise these kinds of things are in such positions of power, that unfortunately it will take more than Biyam Mohamed to topple them and uncover the real truth about the acts of torture and injustices that are taking place.
