These reports point directly to when Bush was in power and how he handled the perceived threat of Islamic and Al Qaeda terrorists, and what he was prepared to do about it.
The Washington Post has reported that the treatment of these operatives inside CIA prisons constituted torture and it is evident that there was little the Bush administration wasn’t prepared to do to gain a little extra information.
The alleged accusations are physical beatings, but also psychological torture and
cruelty.
This is the most extreme form of torture and often the hardest to bear. It has been stated by the Post that these practices often amounted to “cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment”.
The secret report implies that what Washington was involved in (and still is to this day), amounts to international violation of every single international law on the issue which prohibits torture and maltreatment of prisoners.
This information has come from the ICRC and their access to the CIA high value detainees
after they were transferred in 2006 to the U.S detention Camp at Guantanamo.
The report included a number of horrible practices that included sleep deprivation, beatings, extreme temperatures and simulation of drowning to obtain information.
If this was really necessary to get these operatives to release vital information to stop a bombing of New York or London for example, then I am sure that not many people would have a problem with that. The problem is that little or no evidence is ever taken from these captured individuals, but people in positions of high power refuse to rule out using them.
We can all believe that while we have the CIA and the war on terror, we will have
secret CIA torture jails across the world and there will be people, most of whom
haven’t got a clue why they are there in the first place. They will be beaten and
tortured and deprived of sleep and food, until they release some piece of information
that they are perceived of knowing.
Former president George Bush acknowledged the use of coercive interrogation tactics
on senior Al Qaeda operatives captured by CIA after September 11 2001. He has certified
that the CIA interrogation program complied with the Geneva Convention, but he is
bound to back up his foot soldiers.
The CIA has declined to comment on these findings.
Maybe we could accept what is happening if the intelligence was worth it and stopped many bombings, but unfortunately it does not warrant these practices. Somebody should be held to account on what is happening inside America secret torture Jails, but maybe there is no one who is able to stop what is happening because this problem reaches into the highest echelons of America’s power base.

The international committee of the Red Cross has released a secret report on activities that have occurred inside some of America’s most secret jails across the globe.
